GET MORE SUPPORTERS TO THE POLLS
In 2000, the final tally in Florida showed George Bush only won by about 500 votes — even with suspicious vote counting! That’s less than one vote in half the precincts in the state. Only 70% of Florida’s eligible voters voted. Some of those who didn’t vote were supporters of Al Gore. If more precincts had been organized to make sure those supporters voted, things would be very different today.
WIDEN THE MARGINS
The margins between the candidates are often very narrow. That’s why it’s so important for every precinct to be organized to get more people to vote for progressive candidates. The maps below show what a difference only 10 votes or 50 votes per precinct would have made in the 2004 election.
